I saw these on the Pentax forum too. Kodachrome, when properly exposed, provides a transparency with richness, color and contrast that is unmatched by any other film or digital camera. Many abandon Kodachrome when Fuji Velvia became available with its garish, wet paint look. I never really liked the film although it was highly successful for Fuji. The only films, in my opinion, that came close to Kodachrome would have been the original Fuji 100 and Provia. When the occassion called for low contrast, more pastel colors nothing, here again in my opinion, would top Agfachrome 50. I used Kodachrome for over 40 years with the final rolls shot in Michigan's Upper Peninsula during October of 2011 using a Pentax LX. I have 35mm slides going back to 1942 taken by my dad that are in excellent condition. Kodachromes archival qualities were unmatched

Provided you keep them in the dark. I have had some nasty fading on Kodachromes that were exposed to the light.
