The Bird below was shot ISO 400, 1200 mm, 1/125 Second, Aperture 6.5.
The Photo was taken around 6 PM (in fading light). It came out Pitch Black - Thanks to the wonder of Lightroom, the image has been recovered nicely.
Do the rest of the SX-50 owners experience this terrible graininess at ISO 400?
Am I doing something wrong with my settings to wind up with barely usable images?
Feedback / advice appreciated. Thanks.
If a photo comes out pitch black and you recover it with a raw converter, expect lots of noise, even at ISO 100. That happens even with dSLR cameras. So there is nothing surprising about what you see.
The only thing you can do is make sure you shoot in better lighting so that you can get proper exposure.
