X-E1 EVF Image Display Help

I wish I had known about fuji's implementation of the live view exposure before I had bought the xe1. I'm not sure if I would have still bought it if I had known.

my worse situation to which this implementation has blindsighted me was when I was in a heavily backlit situation and the automatic exposure would always underexpose my subject, making it extremely difficult to manual focus. I had to switch it over to spot metering to get it to expose for the subject. This wouldn't have been a problem if it had just shown me what I would get in manual mode.
