Hi,
just so you know the rx100 will print comfortably up to A2. Camera manufacturers imply that these smaller sensor cameras won't print to larger sizes but assuming you have a well exposed image they print beautifully up to large sizes. I use a little unsharp mask in photoshop and have printed images from my Canon S90 which doesn't have IQ as good as the RX100 to A2 and they look fabulously sharp and the colour is beautiful.
The real draw of the RX1 is the lens IMHO, incredibly sharp and great for street shooting; not a great portrait lens. Professional portrait lenses are sometimes chosen as they have a very subtle but flattering softness.. E.g. Hassleblad lenses. Old school studio Mamiya lenses were often not used as they were too sharp and showed up every pore.
So I my feelings are that you have the right camera for the right type of photography, but if you want the best compact travel camera get the RX1.
best
Howard
