Silkypix Developer Studio Pro 5 ................. Gulp!

Hi,

Purchased and downloaded Silkypix Developer Studio Pro 5. I wish I'd tried it first.
I have no doubt it is an excellent program, capable of great results............if you know what you are doing.

I was swayed with forum members saying that the default settings do a great job. But where are they? Just where do you start? There seems to be a multitude of ways to do the same thing. So many controls. The help website is vast! I like to take pictures. The idea of spending days, or more likely weeks, studying the manual in order to use it, does not appeal. Life is too short.

Perhaps I am lazy, or maybe my 52 year old brain can't cope. I should add that I am usually very good with editing programs, having done it for 17 years now.

All I want to do is select a folder of RW2 files, select the default settings, then let it get on with it while I have a cup of tea. Then, if any images need more work, I need an easy way to do this. The 'Greatly Improved Noise Reduction' particularly appeals.

Unless someone can point me to an easy way to use this program, I will stick to using Lightroom 4, which is a doddle to use in comparison.
