I once owned the Sigma but then lit upon a Pentax 18-250. Optically they were very even, the Pentax worked with SR, adjusting to F/L as one went, and I find it much preferable.

Hi PRISCILLA,

This is the new Sigma 18-250mm HSM Macro that has just been released. All of my Sigma lenses work with SR. Those Sigma lenses that have OS will work in OS by turning off SR or will work in SR by turning off OS.

Cheers.

Yes, I apologise, I have just done some more reading and realised my mistake. Rushed into digital print too fast. However, does anyone think that apart from the lightness and compactness, and the macro, which are better, there is any essential optical improvement? If I still had the older version I don't think I'd be in a hurry to replace it. I may be quite peculiar in wanting SR to react appropriately to every little change in F/L.
