RX100 v s100: real-world (unscientific) good light comparison

My gf is in town along with the Canon s100 I gave her when I 'upgraded' to the RX100. A lot of people have asked whether the move and the price difference is worth it (i.e., whether there's a noticeable difference in image quality under 'normal' conditions, whatever those may be). So to test this in a very casual manner, I took a photo with each off my balcony using default auto settings (intelligent Auto+ in the case of the RX100). The idea was to basically simulate the use of a casual or inexperienced snap-shooter who might let the camera do all the thinking beyond composition. So here you go.
