K-01 as an astro camera

Was just pottering in my back garden (in a city - medium/high levels of light pollution) looking at Jupiter and the Moon get closer and closer when I thought it would be fun to see if my notion that the K-01 would be a good astro camera was true. After all, no mirror to slap. I've tried (very unsuccessfully) to do some astrophotography in the past but thought I'm damn well going to try better. There was a gap in the clouds for M42 and I had no intention at all of doing a stack of 30 images and merging/subtracting dark fields etc etc I just wanted to see what it could do 'out the box' . I set the K-01 to ISO4000 and 30" - A single JPG shot. OK so it blew out the centre of the nebula, but it does show some filamentary detail.
Anyhow - I think I'm going to like this :).
