CHRISTMAS LUNCH - EOSM + G1X + s95

Christmas 2012
My family usually gathers at someone's house for Christmas Lunch but this year we met at a restaurant for a change. I had three cameras with me on the day so I used the camera I thought would be best for each shot that caught my eye. It does annoy some family members when they see me sneaking a picture of food on my plate because I suspect it embarrasses them if we're in public. But I've been photographing my meals since 1999 so I was one of the first 'digital foodies'.
At least i don't instagram the pictures.
The EOS-M was great for those shots I wanted with a shallow DOF and some bokeh for portraits. The G1X was a hard hitter as usual. And the s95 was ideal as always for capturing the plated food up close. I haven't really played with these images so they're about the same as they appeared straight out of the camera in JPEG form.
No camera gear for my wife this year. I bought her a guitar that she seemed a little obsessed with a couple of months ago. At least the cats won't complain as much when she strums it (they come to find me when she plays her acoustic guitar and howl for me to make it stop)
Hop you all had a great Christmas Day. Especially those of you spending the day alone. Feel free to post some pics from your own Christmas here and be sure to mention the camera you used.
Cheers!
