Has anyone bought a refurbished lens? Any image quality concerns?

I'm thinking of buying the 30-110mm as a refurbished lens. I have some concern that the refurbished lenses are going to be lenses returned by purchasers because they weren't sharp copies.
Has anyone bought a refurbished Nikon 1 lens? How does it perform? Thanks!
