How many times have you returned a lens after purchasing, and why?

Actually, my purchase of the Nikon 85 1.4G lens changed my camera purchase habits forever.    I replaced a Nikon 85 1.8D with the Nikon 85 1.4G based upon positive user reviews.    However, I found the lens to be only slightly better than the 1.8D version for much, much more money.   Unfortunately, for me, I purchased this lens from my local camera shop that did not allow for returns.    Since I do not personally feel that this lens is worth its price, I would have loved to have been able to return this lens.    In any event, I have never again purchased anything from the local camera shop.   Now I stick with B&H, Adorama, Amazon, KEH (for used), and even Best Buy from time to time.    In case something needs to be returned, no problem with these stores.    Just something to consider going forward.   I sure wish I had that $1,200 back.
