Since the lens were used on contax film cameras, the iq also gives film like colors which was

No complaints on the lens and subject, but I'm with the idea that the cropping is working against the viewer on this one. It's busy at the centre top, at the centre bottom and in the right-hand bottom corner . The eye is pulled off the picture at all those points and then it's an attention seeking battle between all the cropping points and the subject itself. If you are unsure how to crop in the shooting I personally think it's safest to allow enough space all round the subject to crop down in the editing stage, even at the smaller cost of any resolution loss.
