Why would it have that name on it?

I look at my EM5, and it just says Olympus. Doesn't say Panasonic.

On my 4/3 P25 lens, Olympus can't be found anywhere. It says Lumix and Leica. It still works perfectly on the EM5. And a GH2.

Even with this collaboration, the two brands maintain their distinct identity. Panasonic does very well with video, both lenses and bodies, while Olympus does the best with still bodies and lenses. What's neat is, you can mix and match the two to meet your specific situation.

So if Canon and Nikon were to collaborate on a mirrorless system, why would they put a different name on it? Better to stay with two very well known names.

One thing wouldn't change: brand fanboys. The M43 consortium hasn't eliminated the brand specific fanboy, though it has made them look rather absurd. Not that they didn't look silly before, but it's very obvious now.

It's a moot point. Canon and Nikon aren't going to collaborate on anything. Both are too well established, and the different mount and lack of interchangeability tends to keep customers with one brand or the other.
