I have a temporary home studio which consists of my living room and dining room which happen to be end-to-end giving me about 12' x 20' of studio space. I set up and tear down my studio for each photo shoot. This space is barely enough, and I could easily use another 4' in width. I do have an additional 10' in length if I want to put another light on the far end of my dining room table; which I do when photographing quilts.

I personally would not want any of my lights mounted to the ceiling even if I had a permanent studio. I like the flexibility of placing my lights anywhere I want them.
