Conflicted... looking for advice?

I didn't know which forum to post this in so excuse me if I'm in the wrong area, But looking for a little advice on Camera choice. I set my budget at $2000 and was originally set on the Nikon D7000 then I started reading about the D600. If i were to get the D7000 i would be able to get a few lenses instead of the basic kit lenses. If i go with the D600 I would get the Kit which comes with the 24-85mm VR and the 70-300mm VR. Been going back and fourth on what to do. Just wanted to see what other would do given the situation. I'm mainly shoot portraits and street photography with some landscapes from time to time.
