Need help choosing the best Panasonic normal zoom

I plan on buying a Panasonic GX-1 after Christmas but read many conflicting comments about poor IQ with the normal zooms.
Looking for experienced based opinions on the 14-42 power zoom versus 14 42 mega OIS and these lenses vs the 14-45 zoom I see can still be obtained. Other suggestions?
