That is quite good Bob but I think the colour has weakened due to the flash. Generally those types of formations are more yellowish and also they often have a crystalline aspect that can glitter.

I think with the D800 being so good at ISO6400 that it would be better to use high ISO noise reduction (or do it in post so you can control it) and F4 or maybe F5.6. F9 whilst giving a good DOF would take too long. Most of the objects would be in focus at 24mm and F5.6 I estimate.

Anyways. To be continued as I plan a trip to the Jenolan Caves shortly with my range of cameras.

Fuji XE1 may actually be the better camera for this shot as it has the wonderful jpeg colour engine from Fuji and is also D800 like in its high ISO performance.
