G5 external flash - burst mode?

I came recently to the G5 last month from years with the Panny DMC-FZ50, so had the FL50 for TTL flash - vital for use in macro work and for birding using a Better Beamer. The Oly/Panny pins on the G5 hotshoe allow the FL50 to be used in TTL mode, and automatically adjusts flash power as needed - essential for bounce and fill. Can also adjust flash power from camera through the menu option. BUT am I correct in finding that unlike the FZ50, the G5 won't allow burst mode with external flash? The FZ50 limited it for onboard flash but allowed it for external - the G5 seems to prohibit either.
