Hello Wei,

Very nice capture. I also take many shots of birds in flight. I have very few images where I have NOT cropped. In fact, most of my landscapes, etc. have SOME cropping since I tend to shoot a little loose with the idea that I will crop, and ALL of my bird shots have some cropping. There are some purists I suppose who will not crop, but I see nothing wrong with it if it improves the composition. I DO mention it if a bid pic of mine is heavily cropped, especially if it's posted on a birder forum. I think you might try leaving a little more room in front of the bird and less in back, so it looks like the bird has room to fly in to. Here's my shot of an ibis, which was lightly copped, but it was cropped to show more space in front of the bird.

Very nice, and good luck,

Kevin

Nice shot. You beat me to it. To the OP. If you are going to centre the bird I would get in tighter and leave a bit of space in the front Just like Kevin said. Even if you don't want to leave space in the front at least crop it tighter so the focus is in the bird.

I just cropped to see what I could get out of it. I left space at the front and bottom to show way they are travelling. These were coming in for the landing.
