Is DX resolution flatlining with mediocre lenses?

Even so experts still have a hard time telling the difference between photos made from a 14mp P&S camera and a meduim format digital camera of the same scene under the right conditions. Just imagine how low the score of that P&S cameras lens would be. On the other hand the medium format lens should score well due the amount of surface area used. Maybe this will start manufactures to producing lower MP cameras once again. Even FF had a hard time with lens scores. High scoring zooms are going to be very expensive. We need more updated primes particuarlly DX.
