Putting D600 initial release issues in perspective

There has been a lot of talk about how the D600 is much worse and that this time around Nikon has really let down on the QC department. Is it really that much worse than early problems in previous releases? Some blast from the past links for your consideration:

(Yes, we know it's lubricant, not exactly "oil"...)

Well, the one thing we can say is that this time the problem is amplified because arguably a lot more people are buying D600 bodies after initial release than were buying D700s back in the day?
