This is an over lubrication issue as reported in the past and often times when you send the camera into nikon they clean the sensor and may remove some excess lubricants. This has been the case for all nikons like the d7000 in the past. No such reports of shutter failure that I have heard of because of oil splatter but plenty of OVER lubrication. I think like any other part that has lubricant applied, the excess is usually the amount that splatters no? unless you use the wrong lubricant which I have not heard is the case here. I am not a NIKON tech but I think the last of our worries is NOT ENOUGH lubricant but too much which is what happens most often.
