Hoya Polarizing Filter
Dec 23, 2012

Hello all,

Hello all,

I have a Sigma 17-50 camera lens for my K-5 IIs that takes a 77mm filter. My old Hoya is a 49mm used with my older Pentax MX lenses. Filter factor is 3-4.

Should l purchase a new 77mm filter or a step-down adapter? The current filter has parallel lines (crosshatch?) and I read somewhere I should be using a circular polarizing filter.

Thanks, I appreciate any comments.
