8mm F2.8 fisheye shots

One of the few third-party lenses available for the x series is the Samyang/Rokinon/Bower 8mm F2.8 fisheye.

I got my Samyang from B&H for $349.

Turns out, there is some software available which addresses the fisheye distortion.  The software I tried is Fisheye Hemi plug in from Image Trends, which costs $29.95.  This is a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Elements and Photoshop, on either Mac or PC.  The software pursues more of an artistic conversion which mainly straightens verticals.  This has the effect of converting the fisheye view to something more like an extreme wide-angle view, and can be pleasing when there are enough vertical elements in the photo.  Otherwise, the software is ineffective.
