I've seen the results. I don't know about over priced, but a D700 plus 14-24 plus 24-70 and 70-200 gets you one stop more light (three in the case of the UWA) than an E5 plus 7-14 plus 14-35 plus 35-100, performs as well stopped down the extra stop if quality rather than light is the issue, and, critically, probably weighs no more (anyone want to tot it up)?
Of course the comparison is pointless because both cameras are now obsolete, and an E-M5 or a D800 would make both look a bit daft now.

In the meantime can someone explain why the FT lenses have an inherent advantage over MFT ones?
I think you could make a massive, high quality white elephant zoom for MFT as easily as FT. Far better of course to provide manageable zooms (say f2.8-f3.5) and very high quality primes. If one is prepared to cart around huge zooms, one might as well put a huge sensor behind them.

FT still has got some bulk and weight advantage over what I have collected for my D800. Quite often FT lenses are faster because FF lenses would not find too many customers (weight and price).

I do use the Panny 20 1.7 very often on my E-P1. Yes it can show some substantial CA that the Oly cameras cannot correct but it is very small and other than the CA has got brilliant optics.

Yesterday I played around with a Leica ME in a shop and one of the mysteries surrounding the relatively small and brilliant Leica lenses is that the M series is mirrorless which allows for more effctive lens designs. So the potential is there.

OT:

To answer your question on the thread about no E-7, no I did not use the D800 in LV mode and with CDAF to compare it with the OMD. Frankly, I have not used the CDAF implementation on the D800 at all. Usually with DSLR, it is way beyond that of mirrorless systems and for the most of it I prefer the viewfinder. OVF are not that bad today but still cannot hold a candle to a good OVF.
