I shoot nikon and I have to say the people are a bit tough on that thread.
So Dye ink is pretty but only for a short period of time, plus it maybe easier on the printer when its not being used that often, is that correct? Pigment ink lasts longer, resistant to water, and has more pro qualities to the finished product but may have more clogging problems?
Nonsense! If you frame a dye print ( good ink that is ) it will last longer than most marriages.
Unprotected is another story. Paper has a huge influence on dye of even pigment prints survival.
I have a 13 x 19 under gloass I printer on an Epson 1400 about 10 years ago and it looks as good as new.
I shoot weddings, well I try, I have been in business for 8 years now and I must say my booking are way down. I would like to think its the economy and not my work.. duh.
Go ahead have at it.. http://www.crogersphotography.com
Your work is very good. I love the spontaneity of your images.
I was thinking of getting a nice printer and offering a larger print in my packages. I normally dont do that since I have albums and slide shows that I include.
Unfortunately people have no clue what a beautiful print is. All they seem to want is digital files to post on Facebook and email to people.
I shot a wedding for free for a very close friend who had hired a three person team of photographers and she actually bought a ton of prints from me and not from the "Team"
Or I could justify a good printer for the B&W quality and try and up sell the prints, canvas etc. to my past and future customers.
Yes
Have you compared the B&W quality on the prints of the 2880 and 3000 to lab prints?
I can out perform just about any lab out there! These Epson and Canon printers in the hands of someone who knows what to do, will outperform any of these so called labs in quality but maybe not in actual cost. But I will choose quality every time.
I dont think they can do real B&W like a good inkjet. Thoughts on that? Other wise I may as well just get the 1430 or r2000 and print color only.
If I can get low cost ink then I will probably do more hobby printing too.
Regardless of whether you choose the R2000 or The R3000, you will be able to print great images and there are current TOP quality 3rd part sytems to choose from.
