You're both seriously confused and not listening to reason. Here's the bottom line.

Given 8MP = 3,264 x 2,448

and 12MP = 4,000 x 3,000,

the difference in resolution is 736 and 552.

736 = 3,265 x 0.225 = 4,000 x 0.184

552 = 2,448 x 0.225 = 3,000 x 0.184

So 12MP has 23% more resolution than 8MP, or 8MP has 18% less resolution than 12MP. You could call it "about 20%" for a single round figure.

You're the only one multiplying 736 and 552 to come up with a meaningless number that has nothing to do with resolution.
