Output should not be a problem on any spec PC (within reason) - but the lower the spec the longer the processing will take.

The speed issue only affects the preview in the editor, and I find that the lag/judder just makes it difficult to precisely pin point a position for precise editing.

What I do is first convert the video to something like a 25p mpg, I then edit that in the software and save the project on completion of editing. I then re-save the project with a new name and then use a 'replace footage' option to replace the 25p mpg with the original full HD 50p mts file and render that out as a completed video.

If I need to do any changes, I open the mpg project, do the changes and repeat the above process to re-render.

Using the 25p mpg files makes the editing very quick and precise compared to trying it with the HD files.
