I understand completely that none of the FF cameras are overly exceptional but when checking demo videos from the a99, the 5DIII, and the D800 on the Dpreview reviews the problem is that the A99 videos with HD ON looks like the 5DIII and the D800 videos with HD OFF.  If the video quality was at least comparable to the 5dIII and the D800 I think we'd all be a bit more satisfed.  It's very easy to see just by looking at the demo videos in the DPR reviews.

That being said has anyone used an external recorder yet to see if the quality increases?  I'm still curious about that.
