Sad News. Ergo (Brad DeZurik) Has Passed Away.

Those of you who've been around for a while will remember Brad DeZurik, who went by the name "Ergo" here. Brad passed away in his sleep this week.

Brad was known here for his wicked sense of humor and sometimes funny photos but Brad was much more than that. He ran a sheltered workshop for handicapped adults for over 35 years, along with his wife, Judy. I visited that facility and saw first hand the great work he was doing to help those less fortunate. He had been elected as president of the local school board; served as chairman of their local annual Dogwood Festival; became an accomplished portrait photographer and made a fair second income as a professional photog; a devoted family man, adored by his 4 grandchildren; and was admired and respected by all who knew him. He mentored and changed many lives through his tireless work with AA. He and Judy had planned to retire next month and had bought a small Winnebago for traveling. Those plans will never be realized.

This is his obituary, which tells more about the man Click on "View More" under the Obituary and Service tab): http://www.wassonfuneralhome.com/obituaries/Bradley-Dezurik/#/Obituary

I visited with Brad and Judy several times and talked/corresponded frequently. Over the years he bacame one of the best friends I ever had.

Rest in peace, my great friend.

Dick Vance

Brad and I on one of my visits to his home in Arkansas.
