I just saw there is a $200 rebate now on the r3000 and it looks like it prints outstanding B&W prints. $569 at B&H..

However the price of ink looks like it could be a deal breaker.

any thoughts on going this direction?

The price of the ink for the R3000 is not that bad when you compare what you get by purchasing a printer like the Epson 2880 or 2400. I am paying around $17.95 for one ink cartridge for my Epson 2400 , and if I compare the price of the ink cartridges for the R3000 at $31.00 or so, it looks kind of high for the R3000. Now, when you compare how much ink you get for that $17.95, the R3000 starts to look nice. The R3000 cartridge hold more than twice as much ink as the cartridges for the 2880 or 2400 so the cartridges for the R3000 would be costing you less. By the time you end up purchasing as much ink that you would get with the R3000, you are paying over $35.90 where you could be paying around $31.00 for that same amount of ink.
