I've shot a lot of action with an EVF camera. You do get used to the lag and adjust for it. I just had to shoot a bit early, but with the dog sports I was doing I knew where the dog was going and worked out the timing to catch them at the right moment.

Anyway, I do like the EVF in many ways and have used it a lot, but I still went with an OVF camera last time. There are pros and cons with each, but I much prefer the OVF with manual focus on macro subjects. I find the action shots a lot easier as well.

They both have their uses. I'm not sure there is any need for a religious war over it...

Yeah I agree that *right now* that EVFs aren't perfect, they have afterall only beein in mass market consumer cameras for about three years, but measured against the decades of optical viewfinders and the incredible rate of progress ov EVFs, going from nothing to extremely competitive in three years, it is clear that EVFs will overtake OVFs in the fairly near future for the vast majority of practical purposes as they continue to improve with less lag, more DR, less power consumption, etc. The overwhelming majority of people using viewfinders will be using EVFs and that is why it is imperative that Canikon start putting them in its biggest sellers, or else risk losing a lot of those people to the other brands and getting left behind.
