17-55 vs 18-55 Test

I owned the 18-55, 18-55IS & prior to that the 17-55IS I found like you the 18-55IS was very sharp the 18-55 not as sharp & the 17-55IS wasn't worth the extra expense. I sold the 10-22 & 17-55IS kept the 18-55IS. If I replaced it, I would get the Canon 18-200IS just for the convenience. Colours were ok with the 17-55IS but found the 24LII was awesome on a crop camera & would recommend the 50L as a better 2 lens setup if going prime on a crop & skip the expensive 17-55IS zoom as a waste of money. One thing I would say about the 17-55IS is it rocks as an event lens as it focuses well in low light, better than primes.
