Nikon has been very aggressive, in their products feature set, capability and even pricing.

Currently A99 is selling at 3K in street...:-(

But it's really not selling well is it? The a99?

Ebay user Big Value Inc has the lowest price currently for a new model (2,612.46, or $186 less than MSRP) and still only 2 sales. They had 1 sale @ 2,646.64 and lowered their price even further.

Before you bash the seller, they sold 500 Mark III's in a few hours during Black Friday alone.

My point is Sony has GOT to lower the a99 price into the $2200 range else it's just going to be a huge flop sales-wise. I mean Nikon has that D600 with lens deal for $1999. Sony wants you to get the 24-70 ($2k) plus the $2799 A99 - I'm not sure the latter beats the former in performance even if the price was exactly the same. At $2800 more it's a joke.
