It is more than just an intervalometer.

It can output a finished 1080p HD time lapse movie without the need for post-processing; or output RAW files if you prefer to process them yourselves.   It also has "presets" to make it easy for beginners who may be overwhelmed with all the different settings one can make.

Many who complained never really had 1st hand experience with this App.

If I tell you that you can choose either this NEX-6 for $949 or that NEX-6 with time lapse function for $959, would anyone even hesitate to think twice?   Plus you get to use it in multiple cameras with one purchase.
