The low light score is quite disappointing. But don't worry, it is not going to be the end of the world!

Considering the SLT light loss and different colour filtering, that score is fine for DxO.. the 5D3 scores 81, so it's between that and the D600/D800..

The low light score seems about right, with 0.3-0.5EV of light lost, it has to be behind the others.. which is a big deal to some, and is well within the bounds of expectation for others..

Just look at the a57 vs D7K or similar SLT to SLR comparisons.

The sad thing is, I can see the D600 scores being touted against it, without realising it's a subset of technical 'numbers', by which you think people would be throwing their (excellent) 5D3's in the bin..

The only reason the 5DIII doesn't top the charts is because of the limited DR on their sensors. The D800 is darn near 3 stops better, for low light or color the Canon is insanely good. DR is important to me, but then again we still have people all over this forum who shoot in JPEG (8 stops of DR). I think DR is often overlooked, making the Canon an equal to the D800 and far beyond the a99.

Right.  Anything above ISO 800 and the 5DIII crushes the Nikons.  I just don't agree with how they interpret their results on DXO.  To me high ISO *is* 1600 and above, and nothing touches the 6D/Mark III.  They seem to place a huge weight to dynamic range @ low ISO, which certainly isn't the same as "low light / HIGH ISO" shooting.

Other interesting scores for low light/high ISO:

NEX-5n - 1079 ISO

Nex-7  - 1016 ISO

A77 - 801 ISO

A57 - 785 ISO

Panasonic GH2 - 655 ISO
