The difference between 1815 of the 5D MkII and the 1555 of the A99 is not substantial, less than a 16% of a difference. Per DXO mark, a 25% difference in score reflects about a 1/3 EV difference in ISO performance. So you are talking not even a 1/3 EV difference, which is hardly noticeable.

Yet we have many crop sensor cameras that are thousands less coming so very close. The filterless K5 broke the 1200 mark, which is nearly to the a99 as the MKII. If the MKII difference is as negligible as you say, then it is the same with a few crop sensors too. This is why this thread exists, and this is why people are less than impressed.
