EF-S to EF

OK, I just ordered an EF USM 28-80mm Canon lens, (used). Already have the EF 50mm lens. Sure was dissapointed when my EF-S lenses would not fit. I thought I was smart buying the EOS Rebel G since the lenses I already had would fit. Thanks for your help...Dan
