+1 on the stabilization "effect".  Rolling shutter occurs when you quickly pan horizontally.  The top of the frame is in a different position than the bottom of the frame by the time the whole frame is written, or exposed.  The artifacts you're seeing are from the stabilization.  You'd see it in After Effects as well if you used warp stabilizer.  On really shaky shots it can give you a fun house mirror effect.
