What you are testing here... is nothing one really does as photographer. Tracking a subject that walks moves across the frame. Why would you want to do that? I am not sure at al...

Well, I tried that, and the results are pretty similar. I figure AF should be able to track all sorts of movement: Horizontal, vertical, and distance. I've moved. My subjects have moved. Both I and my subjects have moved. The only way I've been able to reliably get reasonably good action shots is to turn off continuous AF, select a single AF point, and take single shots in rapid succession.

Sorry to disappoint, but I don't think these are suitable action cameras.
