Beginner looking at a friends Nikon D200 or micro 4/3?

My friend is selling his used Nikon D200 for $300 (body only) the camera itself looks brand new and only has about 3,200 actuations on it. A few things I like about the camera itself is it feels really good in my hands, I have fairly large hands and really like the size and build quality. I also like the fact that it is a DSLR and as of now might be leaning towards getting into them as opposed to another style of camera. The few things I don't like about the camera is the fact on the higher ISO settings the images can get noisy and the camera itself does seem to look a little complicated but I'm sure my friend would help me with that aspect of it.
I also have been looking at some micro 4/3 (hope I'm saying that right) bodies on various sites and they look pretty cool as well. I'd probably be willing to spend around $400 or so on a body perhaps and it doesn't really matter if it's a little older or not. Maybe an Olympus or Panasonic. Another buddy has an Olympus E-P2 with the Panasonic pancake lens and it was pretty fun trying it out.
I guess what I'm trying to ask is what do you think would help more of a beginner to really learn and grasp the hobby? To be honest I probably do prefer more of a DSLR body style but not 100% sure if the D200 is right for me, maybe I should keep looking?
