can NEX 5R produce results like this?

quite new to photography and am looking into a NEX 5R. For astrophotography photos could i expect images that look similar to this one in terms illumination of the stars in the background.

I understand that there was probably some post processing work done here but does the nex 5r have the ability to capture stars like this with decent clarity? thanks.
