Possible BIG problem 16-50 with Nex 6!

It's a poor day for photography here (overcast and snowing), but I did a quick couple of test shots of a fence and a shed door out in front of our house. The left 100% crop is AF and the right is DMF. All shot raw and developed at default settings in Lightroom.
