Mark, I copied all my old slides with a Sony H2 (no need of a macro lens) and a lashed-up cardboard slide carrier with illumination from the White Area on the Contrast Ratio section of the Lagom site----http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/.

As you can work from your computer chair, you shouldn't get a bad back!

Here's a 50 year-old Agfa slide rescued before the colour change got too bad, and as regards definition, well you can see the film grain.

Don't get too close to the monitor or you'll be photographing the screen dots as well!
