6D Multiple exposures

I don't understand the where the manual is coming from because I found the same on my 5d3.  I compared one normally exposed picture vs multiple exposures, but with the exposure value turned down, in order to end up with the same final exposure.  I found very high iso's to be almost noise free with using this method.
