Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.
I am just plucking up the courage to pull the trigger on the RX1 and I can identify with a lot of what you write.
Its now over forty years since I developed my first roll of film but until now I have never had the funds to buy from the top shelf.
I feel that a camera such as the RX1 would leave me no where to hide.
Having used film SLRs with only a 50mm standard prime I know I can live with a fixed 35mm lens.
The car racing is no more but I am still keen to push myself as an amateur photographer.
I know the old saying that a poor workman blames his tools but a few years ago my sons did some car racing. I took thousands of shots and whilst my shots were OK they were never quite there. All the best shots were from guys who had serious pro gear, lenses worth $5000 plus.
No more blaming mediocre cameras and kit lenses for soft shots or missed opportuniities.
I hope your RX1 continues to inspire you for years to come.
