NEX-5R reviewing portrait orientation shots - am I missing something?
Dec 20, 2012

When I review shots taken in portrait orientation, the photo does not rotate to use the full screen when I rotate the camera. Is this normal? Is there any way to change it so that the photo rotates with the camera?

To be clear, the camera is correctly registering photos as landscape or portrait. It's just that it does not rotate the photo based on how the camera is oriented during playback/review, so I can't review portrait oriented photos using the full screen.

As far as I can tell there is only a setting to turn off auto-rotate, which effectively makes the photo always display in the whole screen, irrespective of how the camera is oriented.
