replacement printer for 4 by 6 size prints

I have a pro 9000 mark 1.  I've stopped using it because it gobbles ink and I'd need to do a deep cleaning an invest in all new ink cartridges.  The use of this new printer would be to allow my wife to print photos to send to friends and family only.

I love the quality of the 9000 but really don't use it much.

Are there any printers you might recommend for use by wife?  Needs to work with Mac equipment.
