Need some Canon 7D help............

I'll admit I am a very amateur photographer however I've been taking some really awesome pictures with my Canon 7D of the Texas Stars (AHL) hockey club for them. I take the pictures at 1/800, ISO of 1250, high speed continuous. About 2 weeks ago I noticed the camera was only taking 3 pictures. The only way I could get it  back to taking an unlimited number of photos was to hit the AF button. I have these settings on CF1, on CF2 i've got it set to take a single shot with flash that I use to take pictures of the cheerleaders and people in the crowd. The camera will no longer take a single shot, I have to have it set to AI Servo for it to work. I'm sure I've changed some setting accidentally but for the life of me don't know what. I've read the manual and can't find anything to fix this problem. The closest I've come is exposure bracketing but I haven't messed with that. Does anyone have any idea why these 2 situations are occuring now. I appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks for dealing with a amateur with such a stupid problem. Thanks!
