I have a Samsung 55 too.

Too much sharpening is a problem too. If you're displaying from a Samsung blu-ray player, you may have to disable the auto adjust feature too. The default settings are over sharpened with too much contrast/saturation. At home I've got a mini-ITX computer (it's the size of a hard cover book) permanently attached to the TV to play music, movies and slideshows. A few minutes adjusting the settings let me get close enough that I've not bothered to use my spyder on it. I'm just using mine at home, so you may want to calibrate.
